“I already knew that Resolute gets round the bends on the Charles better than [its competitors]. I reckon the Resolute with the shark's fin rudder is around 3 seconds faster than any other shell on steering the bends alone!”
- Ardian Ellison, 1984 Olympic Gold Medal-Winning Cox with Sir Steven Redgrave

The Head of the Charles Regatta is one of the most important events in the field of rowing and the largest two-day regatta in the world. Held annually on the Charles River, which divides Boston and Cambridge in Massachusetts, the event draws more than 11,000 athletes from around the world who compete in 56 different race events and garner roughly 400,000 spectators each year. RESOLUTE has had the privilege of partnering with countless successful names in the rowing world including the Molesey Boat Club based out of Surrey, England. The Molesey crew consists of numberous globally-renowned athletes such as Olympians Gillian Lindsay, Katherine Grainger Adrian Ellison, Cath Bishop Tillett, Kate Slatter Allen and GB International athletes, Kate Mackenzie, Philippa Cross, Joanne White and Rachel Hirst Stanhope among many others.

In the 2014 Head of the Charles Regatta, both the Molesey men—including rowing royalty Sir Steven Redgrave and Sir Matthew Pinsent—and women chose a RESOLUTE to compete in. The Molesey women went on to break a 13-year-old record by nearly 38 seconds, winning the Master Eights. Not only are we proud of the Molesey crew but we’re honored that the record-making team has requested a RESOLUTE again for the 2015 Head of the Charles Regatta!
