On Saturday, 18-year-old Roni Vorvoreanu took home the gold medal in the Israel Rowing Championship for Juniors shortly followed by the silver in the National Rowing Championship. Despite being the only rower competing in both events, Israel native, Vorvoreanu, finished 17 seconds faster than the requirement set by the Israeli Olympic Committee. Her impressive finish in the race qualified her to compete in the Junior Olympics in the Czech Republic in May as well as the University Championship in South Korea this July.
Vorvoreanu, a rising star in the international rowing community, competed in the Head of the Charles River last October where she finished eighth in the Women’s Youth Singles in a Resolute. Vorvoreanu’s participation marked the first time Israel was ever represented in the world’s largest two-day rowing event. Resolute Racing and our president Jeff Sturges are proud sponsors of the young athlete and we’re honored to support her in her success!
