Thanks to all who participated in the Spring 2012 Photo Contest. We won’t bore you (even though we are) with how great all the photos are (they really are great) and how hard it was to choose (even though it really was hard) instead we will get right to the point.
The Winners are:
First Place: Hope Wilkinson
Second Place: Gene Paskiewicz
Third Place: Gene Paskiewicz
Due to the fact that our second and third place winners were one and the same our Marketing Manager decided to spread the Reosolute love around a bit more and add another category.
Honorable Mention: Holly Johnson
Thanks again to everybody for taking the time to send their photos in. We hope you feel free to send in any Resolute shots you are really proud of. You never know…we just might want to use them. And wouldn’t it be cool to have a goodie bag full of Z gear show up on your doorstep just for taking a photo and then sending it in?

Please e-mail your entry to our Marketing Manager, Leann at lboggs@resoluteracing.com. In the subject line use “Spring Photos 2012”. They don’t have to have been taken this spring….just in case you happen to have some rockin’ ones from last fall hanging about. You will be notified by e-mail if your photo makes the cut.
To get yourself in the running get your photos in by April 30th.
It has been a long time in coming but we now have our Z gear on-line in our parts store.
While we are doing a happy dance here at the plant, place an order for Z gear. If the order is over $30.00 we will throw in a Black Z Baseball hat and drawstring Z bag – for free! Not a bad way to start the New Year.
And for the first 10 folks to place a Z gear order we will be showing you a little extra love. (No it is not a set of knives that can cut through metal and then slice a tomato.) It’s a surprise but you will be able to wear it! Just our way of saying thanks.
Feel free to spread the word; tweet it, facebook it, tumble it. This celebration last until January 31, 2012.
Since my high school career, I have had the awesome opportunity to practice and race in a variety of your shells, from fours to eights, and from lightweight to heavyweight hulls (of course, weighing in at 200+ lbs., I was never particularly fond of the lightweight boats). In high school, I rowed with CRI (Community Rowing Inc.), a relatively new rowing club on the Charles River.
One Saturday morning during the cold New England winter, I won one of Resolute's hats - It was a white baseball style cap with "Resolute Racing" stitched on the front. I had earned it after completing CRI's "10K for the Boat Bay" race, a 10K fundraiser on the ergs aimed to raise money for new equipment. For some unexplainable reason, I was immediately drawn to this hat; for all I know, the reason could have been because of the huge endorphin surge the piece left me with.
Nevertheless, I began to wear the Resolute Racing hat ever since that day. I wore it on the water and off the water, at practice and at races. It has traveled internationally with me and has been caught in its fair share of photos. After a while, it began to be an iconic hat that my teammates and friends would recognize me by. It too has experienced sweat and tears (and because of this, it, unlike me, has had the chance to go through the washer machine many many times).
Upon coming to Stanford for my freshman year, I was excited for school, and also for rowing with my new teammates who came from places from England to Australia. I couldn't wait to begin yet another season with my Resolute hat. Unfortunately, however, I lost this hat within the first month of being here and have been devastated since. I spent a week looking and asking around, but all of this was to no avail. I had lost my favorite hat that had ultimately become a symbol of my rowing career.
Of course, I would not have been so upset by this loss if I were able to buy another white Resolute hat. After contacting you in search of the same hat, however, I was devastated once again to find that this model from three years ago had become extinct and replaced by a newer version carrying the new "Z" logo. Weeks later, when I learned that you were able to find one last lone white hat with the older logo on it, I could not express my immense gratitude and excitement. I really do appreciate your efforts to look for another one of these hats - I have been privileged enough to practice and race in your shells from the first day as a novice to today as a member of Stanford's crew team. I am incredibly excited to once again sport the iconic Resolute Racing hat.
As everyone gets ready for the long holiday weekend we thought it would be fun to share a video that has been tearing up our social media sites.
While at the Head of the Charles, John Leekley, Men’s Head Coach at Washington College made this great video with his boys during a practice row. We had to share it….again!
Enjoy the video and all of us at Resolute wish you a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.
As the gang unpacks from their adventures at Stotesbury here is what the Resolute Crew has going on this coming weekend.

One of the most frequent requests we have received is to have an on-line store for our Z gear. We are talking with our web gurus now and coming up with some cool ideas to make this happen. In the mean time: never fear! We have come up with a short term solution to make sure you can get your Z gear fix.
On our Facebook page we have set up a photo album with the gear we currently have available. This way you can SEE the merchandise and not rely on us having to describe it to you. All you then need to do is contact our Manger of Marketing Development, Leann Boggs, and she will set you up with what you need. While it is not a perfect solution we feel it is a big step in the right direction.
While you are on our Facebook page check out the discussion topic Z Gear. Let us know what kind of merchandise you would like to see us stocking. If you are not a fan of Facebook feel free to leave comments on this blog post or e-mail Leann directly. We welcome your input.
