In the eagerness to get out on the water and row, safety is sometimes put on the back burner. However, when accidents happen, such as the events on the Potomac a couple of weeks ago, everyone is suddenly reminded that rowing can be a dangerous sport.
Resolute is proud to introduce our Airbag Floatation Technology System (AFTS).
Here is an excerpt from our AFTS overview:
The safety of our customers remains of paramount importance to our business. We believe this cutting edge “airbag flotation technology” is superior in many ways to nearly all of the standard “bulkhead” systems currently in place.
Existing bulkheads, as found on most shells, are initially intended to be sealed airtight tanks. However, some of the time, the safety value of these tanks is compromised. These tanks are often drilled out to make holes for wiring, seat tracks, bolt holes etc. When the tanks are actually submerged leaks will occur through theses holes filling the tanks with water thereby having the opposite effect of floatation and can potentially become a hazard.
The majority of modifications are done to the shells / bulkheads by the owners not necessarily the manufacturers. The manufacturers cannot control modifications to their product once they are sold.
Resolute “Airbag Flotation Technology” provides a safer lighter alternative and additionally provides for the channeling of cables and room for hardware without compromising the intended safety need of extra flotation.
We want everyone to be safe so if there are any questions please give us a call.
These airbags can be purchased through our on-line parts store. Each airbag comes with a complete set of instructions.
