RESOLUTE Racing Shells is proud to announce the addition of Mark Carroll to the RESOLUTE sales team.  He brings over 18 years of experience as a competitive rower and coach to RESOLUTE.  Mark has been involved in rowing since he was a freshman at Loyola Academy in Wilmette, Illinois. Over the years he has been a coach, a competitor, a director, a volunteer, and a strong advocate for rowing.

While attending Fairfield University in Connecticut, Carroll got his first opportunity to coach at the Norwalk River Rowing Association.  He currently coaches for the Chicago Rowing Union and the Loyola Academy Rowing Association.  He coached previously for St. Ignatius Chicago Crew and for the Lincoln Park Boat Club, where he also served as rowing director for the club.

Carroll spends a lot of his time helping to promote rowing in Chicago and has worked with virtually every rowing program in the city with the specific goal of expanding the rowing community.  Recently, Carroll was responsible for outfitting a new at-risk youth rowing team by identifying and coordinating the used purchase of virtually every boat in the Chicago Training Center’s fleet.  He founded the Chicago River Boathouse Advisory Committee, which aims to advise the Chicago Park District in their development of four new boathouses on the Chicago River.  In addition, Carroll has been working extensively with Recovery on Water, a mutually-empowering rowing team for survivors of breast cancer in Chicago.

Carroll is an USRowing Level III Certified Coach and has worked in rowing shell repair with Klinger Engineering.  Carroll was born and raised in the City of Chicago.
