RESOLUTE WELCOMES SCOTT WISNIEWSKI TO OUR ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE TEAM

Resolute Racing - Wednesday, December 14, 2011

Resolute Racing Shells is proud to announce the addition of Scott Wisniewski to the RESOLUTE sales team.  He brings over 14 years of experience as a competitive rower and coach to RESOLUTE.

Scott was introduced to rowing as a freshman at the University of Pittsburgh in 1997.  He moved to Philadelphia in 2001 to pursue his passion as an oarsman at Undine Barge Club where he trained for 8 years, winning medals at Canadian Henley and Club Nationals.  In 2007 he made the transition to coaching as an assistant coach for the Yale University Lightweight Men’s Program under Andy Card.  In 2008 after spending the summer as the Head Lightweight Coach at Penn AC, he accepted a position at Vesper Boat Club as the Elite Assistant Coach under Michiel Bartman and Head U23 Lightweight summer coach. In addition to his services as the Assistant Coach at Vesper Boat Club, he also served as the Head Coach for the Haddon Township Crew Club in New Jersey for three years.  He was named the Head Rowing Coach for the High Performance Program at Vesper Boat Club this August.  During his tenure as the assistant coach at Vesper Boat Club, he directed four crews which competed at the U23 World Championships and his lightweight women’s 2x finished 6th in the world in Amsterdam this summer, the highest ever U.S. finish in that event.   At the Pan American Games this fall, he coached two athletes to a double medal winning performance in Guadalajara, Mexico.  He has coached at every level, has a passion for rowing and rowers and a vested interest in growing the sport of rowing in his area.

“We are extremely pleased to have a person of Scott’s caliber representing us in Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey,” said Jeff Sturges Resolute President.  “We realize the importance of Philadelphia with its existing, growing and powerful rowing community.  The addition of Scott provides Resolute more flexibility in this region and adds another highly valuable resource that our customer base can tap into.  As a seasoned competitive rower and coach, Scott provides our customers with the detailed technical advice they seek.  Scott is truly the premier consultant in this region and has already had an enormous impact with many top programs in the area.  We welcome Scott and are proud to have him as a key member of the Resolute team.”

Scott said, “I love our sport and like having the opportunity to talk to rowers, coaches, officers, administrators and parents.  I see my role at Resolute as a compliment to that love and as an asset to the continued growth and competitiveness of rowing in our area.”

THE RETRO RESOLUTE HAT

Resolute Racing - Monday, December 05, 2011

Dear Resolute Racing,

Since my high school career, I have had the awesome opportunity to practice and race in a variety of your shells, from fours to eights, and from lightweight to heavyweight hulls (of course, weighing in at 200+ lbs., I was never particularly fond of the lightweight boats).  In high school, I rowed with CRI (Community Rowing Inc.), a relatively new rowing club on the Charles River.

One Saturday morning during the cold New England winter, I won one of Resolute's hats - It was a white baseball style cap with "Resolute Racing" stitched on the front.  I had earned it after completing CRI's "10K for the Boat Bay" race, a 10K fundraiser on the ergs aimed to raise money for new equipment.  For some unexplainable reason, I was immediately drawn to this hat; for all I know, the reason could have been because of the huge endorphin surge the piece left me with.

Nevertheless, I began to wear the Resolute Racing hat ever since that day.  I wore it on the water and off the water, at practice and at races.  It has traveled internationally with me and has been caught in its fair share of photos.  After a while, it began to be an iconic hat that my teammates and friends would recognize me by.  It too has experienced sweat and tears (and because of this, it, unlike me, has had the chance to go through the washer machine many many times).

Upon coming to Stanford for my freshman year, I was excited for school, and also for rowing with my new teammates who came from places from England to Australia.  I couldn't wait to begin yet another season with my Resolute hat.  Unfortunately, however, I lost this hat within the first month of being here and have been devastated since.  I spent a week looking and asking around, but all of this was to no avail.  I had lost my favorite hat that had ultimately become a symbol of my rowing career.

Of course, I would not have been so upset by this loss if I were able to buy another white Resolute hat.  After contacting you in search of the same hat, however, I was devastated once again to find that this model from three years ago had become extinct and replaced by a newer version carrying the new "Z" logo.  Weeks later, when I learned that you were able to find one last lone white hat with the older logo on it, I could not express my immense gratitude and excitement.  I really do appreciate your efforts to look for another one of these hats - I have been privileged enough to practice and race in your shells from the first day as a novice to today as a member of Stanford's crew team.  I am incredibly excited to once again sport the iconic Resolute Racing hat.

Thank you,
Andrew

RESOLUTE IS NOW AN OFFICIAL DEALER OF COXMATE

Resolute Racing - Monday, November 21, 2011

Resolute is pleased to announce we are now an official dealer of Coxmate. We are offering the Coxmate HC for the single and the Coxmate SX for Eights and Fours. These systems are designed to work in conjunction with Nielsen-Kellerman wiring.

Looking to rewire your boat? We also stock the Modular Harness and Speaker systems for both Eights and Fours.

Coxmate says:

Coxmate products are the new generation of electronics for rowing. They bring the latest in electronics technology to the sport and have been designed to be both economical and durable. Their design followed a long period of research into the needs of rowers, coxes and coaches.

Coxmate was founded in 2002 to provide a new generation of electronics for rowing. Peter Hodson, the founder, a rower from school and university and more recently in Masters, found himself maintaining the electronics equipment for his daughter’s school.  This frustrating experience, coupled with over 20 years experience in the development and manufacture of electronics, prompted the development of the Coxmate range.

Peter carefully analyzed all aspects of existing systems and rowing needs, especially in schools.  And from this research he started to develop the Coxmate range of products.

The resulting products bring rowing electronics to a new level of performance. Coxmate has a strong emphasis on durability, ease of use and ease of maintenance.  The products are designed by rowers, for rowers.

Coxmate has a track record for innovation: we made the 4-speaker wiring harness, the micro-impeller, the magnetic electrical connection and the first integral GPS for coxing amplifiers. We aim to continue to innovate in order to support rowing, sculling and coaches with the latest technology to improve boat communication and speed measurement.

For more information on the Coxmate product line click here. Coxmate also has a great resource center just for coxswains. Be sure to book mark it! And don’t forget to ask your account executive for the option pricing to have the Coxmate system installed on your new Resolute.

RESOLUTE NOW OFFERING NIKE OMADA ROWING SHOES

Resolute Racing - Monday, November 14, 2011

For those of you looking for another option for shoes, Resolute is now offering NIKE OMADA rowing shoes.

Nike says “6000 is the number of calories a rower burns in a day. Burning this many calories significantly heats up their body temperature. So Nike developed a quick-drying mesh upper that vents hot air away from the rower’s feet.”

Nike goes on to say “Although the rowing motion ends with the arms, it begins with the feet. That’s why Nike placed drainage holes on the outsoles. Now, athletes can concentrate on the race and not on wet feet.”

You can purchase them through our online parts store here.

If you are interested in have the shoes installed in your new Resolute make sure to ask your Account Executive for pricing on the option.

Be sure to check out Nike’s website for more information and to watch a design video about the shoes.
